Christine (Crissie) Matheson continues to support her patients through her naturopathic practice and her signature Belly Be Well™ program for optimizing gut and gynecological health. She also recently enjoyed leading educational projects to increase HPV and cervical health awareness for Wellex, a supplement brand dedicated to evidence-based support for women’s health. Giselle Jones – Now feeling more settled in our home in Rockwood, Ontario, with my husband and daughter, I’m grateful we made the move back from the U.S. when we did. I’ve been continuing to grow my cross-border private psychotherapy practice and have been giving talks and lectures on Mindfulness – a practice I’m both grateful for and humbled to share. Reconnecting with some of my HC Old Girl crew has been truly reaffirming. Much love!!
Karen Schaffer – My kid Avery just finished second year at UVic, and our house is now Net Zero (in energy use) thanks to ground solar panels installed this year. I’m still living by the ocean, counselling by day and writing by night (well, evening – let’s be real, I’m getting old). Katherine Gurney – Still living in Toronto and working as General Counsel at Northleaf, I remain close with many of my HC friends and am looking forward to celebrating our 35th reunion in September! My time at HC has officially come to an end – again – as my daughter, Scarlett, graduated in 2024. It was fun to see so many graduation traditions remain unchanged, along with some new ones (like parents attending the prom pre-party!).
Pam McLeod – I’m still working as a Registered Massage Therapist at two clinics in the Yonge/Lawrence area – Pomegranate Healthcare and the Brookdale Fitness Club. I also lead personal training sessions and group fitness classes at Brookdale, with a few Old Girls as clients! I’m nearly out of the high school years, with my youngest heading into Grade 12 in September. Looking forward to one last round of university tours – and stressed-out teens. We also welcomed a rescue pup in May named Cleo; her feline siblings are still questioning our decision. Karen DeBortoli – I’m currently working as Principal and Compliance Leader at Gallagher in Toronto. Deric Jacklin and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in November 2024 with a Danube Christmas market cruise. Our son Joshua is heading to U of T this fall – but not before a family trip to Japan this summer!

I’m directing the upcoming documentary The Regeneration Generation – and leading the global movement behind it – which offers sponsors a unique opportunity to align with Indigenous leadership and climate innovation to catalyze systemic change and inspire millions worldwide. At a special event celebrating the legacy of Lisa Hardie, she caught up with Ayrlie MacEachern (living in Singhampton, ON), Karen Herder (living in Aurora), Rachel DeBlois and several others from the class of 1993. It was nice to share stories and remember Lisa while walking through the wooded trail named in her honour. She continues to work in live events and enjoys all the places that her job takes her around the world.

The Class of 1993 continued celebrating milestones – 50th birthdays, graduations, adventures, and fresh starts. For the Boarders, the festivities kicked off with a summer bash in Georgina for Katrina Myer’s birthday, followed by a fall gathering to mark Amy Schlueter’s milestone. In November, everyone came together at Camille Cleare’s home in the Bahamas for an unforgettable reunion. It was a joy to reconnect – with local friends Carla Morton, Suzanne Sherk-McKenzie Poole, Gwen Van Wees, Britta Hild, Marcia McLellan, and Katrina Myers, as well as Emelie Cheng, who flew in from Sweden, and Samantha Walls, who joined from Alberta.
In other exciting news: Amy Schlueter is the host of the Voices of Leadership podcast, part of her growing network, Bespoke Productions. Hilary Smith Beasley took her kids to Iceland and is planning their next adventure to Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain – something that’s been on her bucket list since Ms. Hazel’s Grade 5 class! Jennifer Bassett has been making waves with both her business and volunteer work – she was featured on the February 2025 cover of The Hollywood Magazine and named one of the “10 Most Inspiring Women to Watch in 2025” and among the “Top 10 Event Planners in the World.” McKenzie just wrapped up her first year at Queen’s, and Will is off to Huron in the fall.
Robyn Menear Zivic is busy with a move and starting a new job in NYC. Her daughter, Hudson, is spending the summer in a special program with the Dean of Political Science at Villanova. Andrea Racansky Thomson pulled off a record-breaking gala for Elmwood School, started a new job back at the National Arts Centre, and travelled to Japan – all in just 10 days. Tamara Kolber is active with Crescent School’s Parents Association and regularly bumps into Camilla Pucholt in the school parking lot.
Jennifer Wilson is thrilled to announce the publication of her first book, The Heart of Homestay: Creating Meaningful Connections When Hosting International Students (Page Two, 2025). It is a must-read for anyone involved in international education – whether as a host family, coordinator, or manager. The book received silver in the Parenting category at the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPYs). On the family front, Jennifer’s daughter Morgan recently earned her BSc from the University of Toronto, and her son Seamus completed Level 2 of the cook training program at Camosun College. Jennifer also completed her MFA in Creative Nonfiction at the University of King’s College (Dalhousie). She has stepped away from her CEO role at Canada Homestay Network to launch her own leadership coaching and consulting business, Oak Bay Coaching and Consulting.
Mita Ghosh continues to care for her mother, who is about to turn 87. She still enjoys hiking and exploring films and has recently added line dancing and pole fitness to her activities. Line dancing, she notes, is easy and fun, while pole fitness is challenging but rewarding. She can now sit on the pole for up to 30 seconds and has gained a new respect for the athleticism it requires! Your 1993 Class Reps – Tamara, Mariam Marandi, and Andrea – thank everyone who sent in news. Keep in touch!

Hello, Class of ’94! It’s hard to believe we celebrated our 30th reunion this past fall! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us to reconnect and share more laughs than we could count. A special shoutout to the huge Boarder contingent that made their way back to HC, and to those who joined the party for the very first time! We were also thrilled by the appearance of the OG Havergator – it was certainly a night to remember. Here’s what’s new in our class: Natascha Kozlowski continues her fantastic work as a Girl Guide leader, supporting her daughter and preparing for a summer trip to the UK and France. There was a meeting of the medical minds with Charlotte Moore, Jenny Russell, Shelly Dev, and Na-Koshie Lamptey all making strong contributions to the field. A special congratulations to Dr. Na-Koshie Lamptey, who became the Acting Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto – an incredible achievement!
Renita Rietz is on the move again, having relocated to Simcoe County. Deborah Roth Ledley – I’m still treating lots of kids and teens with anxiety in my private practice and spending a lot of time volunteering with the Philadelphia Orchestra. I chair their Education Program, which sends docents into inner-city schools to teach kids about classical music. One of my kids is halfway through college at Cornell, and the other is finishing junior year in high school. Time is flying! Leila Piper Phillipson – Loving life in Whistler, BC! This spring, I received my 25-year service award from the Whistler Blackcomb Snow School. I’ve also checked off two bucket list trips with my husband and daughter – to South Africa and French Polynesia. Say hi if you’re ever passing through Whistler! Cheers to 100 years, grads – see you again soon! Aimee Beeston.

Our class was thrilled to share some of the athletic adventures we’ve been pursuing! Lisa Rossiter-Thornton and Zanele Ndlovu enjoyed reconnecting in Calgary this past summer, where they discovered a shared love for cornhole competitions. What began as a casual backyard and cottage pastime has blossomed into a growing hobby. Cornhole has proven to be the perfect blend of fun activity and community spirit – and they’re even considering joining formal leagues in the future!
Brenda Ha was delighted to return to Havergal in March to speak to the student body about AFC Toronto – the city’s first professional women’s soccer team in Canada’s newly launched domestic league. As a co-founder, she feels it has been a tremendous privilege to witness the league’s historic first season take shape. The passion and enthusiasm from Toronto’s supporters have been nothing short of inspiring, and she is incredibly proud to be part of this exciting movement for women in sport. It’s also been a milestone year for Brenda and her family. Her son, Jai, graduated from UCC this spring and has just begun his first year at Queen’s University, studying Commerce – following in his mom’s footsteps! Meanwhile, her daughter, Mya, is continuing her Havergal journey, entering Grade 9 after graduating from the Middle School.
Sheana Desson continues to enjoy her family medicine practice while also chasing after her two daughters (ages 9 and 10), who are both thriving at Havergal Junior School. We’re looking forward to our 30th reunion this September – and we hope to see all of you there! Catherine Nicholson, Deirdre Horgan MacLeod and Lisa Rossiter-Thornton.
